Rachel is an artist working with ceramics and photography. Working primarily with porcelain, her work has strong focus on materiality and the exploration of the materials translucent qualities. Through simple refined forms she creates crafted pieces that celebrate the purity and expressive potential of porcelain, continually searching for moments of quiet magic within the material.

Inspired by the landscape and the ever changing patterns created by light, Rachel’s work reflects a sensitivity to atmosphere, form and natural beauty.

In 2025 Rachel took some time out from her ceramic practice to reconnect with her first creative passion - photography. Time spent both in her adapted studio and out in the landscape with her camera ignited a new creative spark and Rachel is now looking forward to developing a combined practice in which photo and clay work together, each inspiring and informing the other.

Rachel is based in Frome, Somerset. After studying ceramics in Cardiff she set up her studio practice in 2005. She exhibits across the UK and internationally, is included in the prestigious Homo Faber guide and won the Prize of Ceramics in the Authentique International exhibition at Ceramic Art Andenne, Belgium, 2025.
